Improvements in the Application of CO2 Storage Efficiency Values for Deep Saline Formations
An updated (as of September 2014) methodology for determining storage efficiency factors of potential geologic sinks is presented in this document. The storage efficiency factor predicts the percent of existing pore space that can be used for long-term storage of CO2 in a reservoir. The document discusses the current U.S. Department of Energy methodology, the improvements developed by the PCOR Partnership during the Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships (RCSP) Phase III period, and the workflow created to implement the methodology. The workflow details how and when to utilize the methodology including scenarios that could lead to misinterpretation.;View/Download Document
